The lettering said: “Do It Right The First Time.”

I’ve seen this at many corporations (just a different picture with the same statement “Do It Right The First Time”), but this one really got to me. That’s because there was no picture attached to it. It was just the statement all by itself.
I started thinking about it while I was waiting to get in, and I was kind of glad that the employees there are getting influenced by this type of energy. If they don’t do my (or other business owners) business paperwork right the first time, then I’ll be in trouble dealing with the consequences of the sloppy work.
What bothered me was that I’ve met way too many people who work at corporate offices that bring this type of influence to their private life – especially entrepreneurs.
Let’s evaluate this statement.
From an employee point of view, doing it right the first time is essential to the corporate world. It will keep the cost down and increase the customer satisfaction – not to mention please the boss. That will secure your job and keep that paycheck coming.
From an entrepreneurial and business owner point of view, you will die one day and never get it right. Here’s what this shocking statement of mine means.
I’ve been an employee for 11 years and an entrepreneur/business owner for over 5 years now. I’ve experienced both worlds first hand and I will spend the rest of my life in the entrepreneur/business owner world.
